Ford is busy this month. When they are not promoting the Bronco , they are making teasers for a special Mach-E. Today this Mach-E 1400 has been officially presented and dare we say it, Ford is going to Pikes Peak!
Get the fastest horse out of the stable
With the Mach-E 1400, Ford presents the ultimate version of the electric Mustang Mach-E . The use of the iconic Mustang name has not been well liked by everyone. Ford remains behind, however, and goes the extra mile with the Mach-E 1400. Using the propulsion from the Mustang Cobra Jet, the Mach-E has no less than 1419 hp. The violence on wheels was created in collaboration with RTR vehicles as a showpiece of electric American muscle. Because the chassis and drivetrain can be adjusted as desired, many options are possible. For example, the Mach-E is an excellent drift car when the wishbones and steering are adjusted. For the track, this life-size Lego car can be adapted by putting its full power on the rear or front wheels. We dare not say what the last option would do in the area of understeer.
Of course, the Mach-E 1400 does not show a realistic picture of a daily electric car. But it does show what the possibilities are when no rules have been drawn up. According to Ford, the Mach-E 1400 is above all a fun project to demonstrate the diversity of electrics. This is made clear with a film where the Mach-E is compared to 4 known Mustangs.
Mach-E Pikes Peak 2020
Despite the many canceled sports events, Pikes Peak will take place on August 30 in Colorado. Especially in recent years, this event has become a playground for powerful electric racing cars. The most famous example of this is the Volkswagen ID-R, which holds the Pikes Peak record for the fastest run of all time with a time of 7: 57.148. This is almost a minute faster than the 2016 electrical record! This will not please Ford and our prediction is a record attempt on Pikes Peak!
Well, the ID-R and the Mach-E 1400 are both electric racing cars, but that’s where the comparison ends. Where the ID-R went for an optimal horsepower / weight ratio with “only” 680 horsepower. Ford has the option to use more than double for their record attempt. And with the promise that the Mach-E 1400 can be used for just about anything. Is the idea of a Pikes Peak record run, just a matter of placing the correct Lego block.
